Bretzelitos travel to Singapore – Little India, Sentosa and Chinatown

by bretzelitos

Yesterday we went to little India in Singapore. After a quick breakfast we started our tour and took the metro to the little India MRT station (MRT stands for: mass rapide transport).  This little indian quarter feels certainly like really being in India. All these mixed shops next to each other – car tire store next to a jeweler and traditional indian clothing store – and the colourful houses are generating an Indian feeling. Around lunch time, we had some lunch in a chinese restaurant before we went into Mustafas department store. You can truly say, you are able to find everything in this store. The department store is around two blocks large and has in general around fifth floors. It was amazing and without asking to take which way out, we would have been certainly lost.

After we finished our little tour in little India, we took the MRT to Harbour Front. In Harbour Front, you have the opportunity to change to the monorail which brings you directly to the Sentosa island. Little Bretzelito was already very excited just because of taking the monorail . This little island is an unbelievably beautiful amusement park and you certainly don’t miss any attraction. From the Universal studios of Singapore which are present there, a water park with water slides, a beach, a zip line, an aquarium, a cable car system and much more to find here. We enjoyed a lot our visit in the aquarium and saw a lot of fish – oh really? Nevertheless, the rays, sharks and jellyfish have been very beautiful and it was a great and interesting visit.

As we finished our aquarium tour, we decided to take an overview of the whole island and tried out the cable car system. One system runs from West to East on the island and the other one connects Harbour Front with Sentosa and Mount Faber. We had a beautiful view over the island, the harbour of Singapore and the skylines around us – it was certainly worth the money!

Back on the mainland, we decided to take MRT back to the Hotel. After a short rest and a shower we went to Chinatown and had a look around. We took some beers before we went back to the Paulaner where we finished our day.

See you soon!
